Can you tell us about your journey into the equine industry, and what inspired you to specialize in the equine industry as a copywriter?
My journey began when I was 14. At the time I was doing volunteer work at a stable and I loved every second of it. As I grew older, my love and connection to horses and animals only grew deeper. Unfortunately, my volunteer position came to end as I entered tiny college and retail years. At 30, I had been diagnosed with an immunocompromised condition which triggered me to have vertigo episodes. Due to my stomach issues being uncontrollable, I had to consider a career that I could do from home that I enjoyed. Aside from horses, I always loved the way words could change someone’s life for the better. When I became certified in copywriting at 30, I knew I was on the right path. After doing some digging, I knew my soul still yearned to help our equine friends. Here I am nearly 4 years later helping horses through creativity and words!
What services do you offer?
My primary service is copywriting. However, I also offer social media management and UGC content creation services. In addition, I am proud to announce I am offering distance horse reiki sessions to improve your horse’s wellbeing.
What are some of the unique challenges you face when creating copy for the equine industry, and how do you overcome them?
My biggest challenge is helping equine businesses communicate in a way that speaks to their audience. Many equine business owners make the mistake of thinking, “I’ll just post about my business and people will come”. In reality, it’s so much more than just posting. I like to explain to equine businesses owners that copy is like the reins to your business. If it is written in the right way, and speaks to your ideal customer with the right words, you can steer customers to your business and they will buy. But you need trust and direction, which is what I focus on in my copywriting craft.
What is your favorite thing about your business?
My favorite thing about my business is helping the equine kingdom. I love how words and copy can quite literally change the world.
Do you have any future goals for your business?
I’d like to extend my business to companion veterinary clinics, and one day I plan to own my dream horse. Her name will be Magic, she’s a Clydesdale who loves to barrel race. Can you guess I’m manifesting it?
What role does storytelling play in your work, and how do you craft compelling narratives that engage an audience?
Story telling is a lot like the blanket you put under a saddle. It provides a cushion that saddles cooperation. In other words, story telling is the heart of my business and my soul. Stories can literally transform the well-being of horses, bring hope to the animal kingdom, and provide a bridge between reality and imagination. Painting a picture of how an equine business can improve the lives of horses is an incredible tool to have.
What advice would you give to equine businesses looking to enhance their online presence through copywriting?
My advice is to speak as if you’re talking to a cherished friend or relative. It improves copy by coming off more authentic and caring. Customers want to know that you genuinely care to solve their struggles. Give them that by providing empathetic copy.
Do you have any hobbies you enjoy?
I enjoy yoga, meditation, Pilates, and spending time with my fur babies and the love of my life.
What are some common misconceptions about copywriting in the equine industry, and how do you address them with your clients?
The equine industry may often scoff at the cost of a copywriter. But, when you hire someone who doesn’t rely on AI, sincerely cares for their craft, and for your equine business, the value they can provide is 10x greater than the investment.
What is the best way to contact you if someone would like to work with you?
